2020年东盟一体化：现状、挑战与前景

Abstract:In recent years，the European Union，which used to be a successful model of regional integration，has experienced multiple crises and triggered discussions on the further development of regionalism. As the pioneer of regional cooperation in the Asia-Pacific，ASEAN’s sense of unity will not only affect the construction of community，but the stability and prosperity of the whole region as well. To some extent，the escalation of strategic competition among major powers，the weak effectiveness of regional mechanisms and the growing populism have strengthened the centrifugal tendency of ASEAN members. However，the structural identity of ASEAN countries remains the same，and the signing of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership （RCEP） has reduced the risk of de-globalization and given a strong impetus to the economic recovery in the post-epidemic era. As long as ASEAN could improve the institutional level，adhere to the people-centered governance and actively engage in multilateral cooperation，it will be able to maintain the cohesiveness and avoid splitting.
