Abstract:In 2017，the total volume of international community’s official development assistance to Sub-Saharan Africa has increased，but it is still relatively concentrated and countries such as Ethiopia，Nigeria，and Tanzania are the top ODA recipients. The traditional donors have increased their aid volume to Africa and the emerging donors have maintained the same scale as the previous year. China continues to increase its assistance to Africa in areas such as infrastructure，health care，emergency humanitarian assistance，agriculture，capacity building，and aid for trade. Looking ahead，Africa’s humanitarian aid demand will rise further，and the negative impact of the newly announced U.S. Africa Strategy is confirmed. In this context，it is necessary to expand private sector’s participation to fill Africa’s growing development financing gap.
