Abstract:In 2016，the traditional donors generally increased their aid to Africa，while the aid provided by international organizations and some emerging donors showed a decline. At the same time，in order to implement the “China-Africa Top Ten Cooperation Program”，China's aid to Africa continued to expand in all areas，including industrial cooperation，connectivity，medicine and health，emergency humanitarian assistance，capacity building，and aid for trade. All of these greatly advanced the process of poverty reduction and modernization in Africa. Looking ahead，the United States，as Africa's largest source of financing for development，will continue to scale back its assistance to Africa in spite of its domestic pressure，while Africa's national public debt levels and the employment pressure of the youth population will increase，accordingly leading to Africa's higher expectations of the scale and quality of international development financing. In this context，exploring the expansion of the scale of blended finance for development is an inevitable approach to support the development of Africa in the future.
