Abstract:In recent years，China wind power industry has made remarkable achievements. China has ranked first globally in terms of both newly added and cumulative installed wind power capacity for consecutive years，and has become the largest wind power market. In 2016，the new and cumulative installed capacity of China wind power continues to maintain the world’s leading position，and the policy environment has also been further optimized and improved. However，problems such as the wind power curtailment and renewable energy subsidy arrears hasn’t been solved，the Levelized Cost of Energy （LCOE） is still high and the rate of wind turbines exportation is still low. As the wind feed-in tariff falls，the wind development encounters unprecedented challenges. Under the guidance of “the 13th Five-Year Plan”，the wind industry of China will change from extensive development to fine development. The governments should actively innovate and improve the wind policy system focusing specifically on the green power certificate trading mechanism，the wind power parity，the reformation of electric power system，finance and insurance and the international development of wind industry，to assure the healthy and sustainable development of windpower in China.
