Abstract:In 2015，the official development assistance （ODA） of the international community has declined as a whole，which also had a negative impact on the assistance volume toward sub-Saharan Africa. Meanwhile，the emerging donors have gradually played a greater role in promoting poverty reduction in Africa. China，in particular，has set up the BRICS New Development Bank and the China-Africa Industrial Capacity Cooperation Fund for the full implementation of the UN sustainable development goals and is actively pursuing trilateral development cooperation with the United States and African countries. However，in the context of the expected assistance reduction of DAC countries and the enlarged development financing gap in Africa，how to improve the integration and efficiency of aid resources has become an unavoidable problem for the international community. In the future when the size of the existing aid to Africa is difficult to expand or even shrinks，expanding the scale of aid for trade and actively carrying out trilateral development cooperation may be the direction of the international development assistance toward Africa.
