Abstract:In response to the recent crisis in Ukraine，the United States and the European Union，along with other countries and international organizations，implemented a series of sectorial sanctions against Russia’s energy industry，whose development has been hindered with respect to technology，facility and financing. These sanctions have accelerated Russia’s shift of focus from Europe，its traditional market for oil and gas，to Asia，the huge emerging market. For now，China is already an important buyer of Russian gas. In the future，Russia will keep increasing exports of oil and gas to Asia. This focus shift will exert significant influences on regional and global energy security and should be tackled carefully for sure.
