绿色金融助力碳达峰碳中和目标愿景实现

Abstract:Chinese President Xi Jinping announced an ambitious climate target of peaking carbon emission before 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality before 2060at the General Debate at the 75th Session of the United Nations General Assembly. Increasing green investment and accelerating economic and energy structure transformation are crucial challenges for China to achieve the carbon peaking and neutrality goals. Developing green finance and utilizing the roles of finance in supporting green and low-carbon development through resource allocation，risk management，and market pricing are vital to close the existing financial gaps. This article explains the importance of developing green finance in achieving the carbon peaking and neutrality goals. based on a systematic review of China’s green finance practice，in terms of policy system，market development，international cooperation，this article analyzes the opportunities and challenges brought by the carbon peaking and neutrality goals to green finance development. This article also provides policy recommendations on how green finance can further support the real economy and achieve carbon neutrality.
