Abstract:The insurance industry has experienced a healthy and stable development in 2013，and the market-oriented reform has been conducted throughout the year. The insurance reforms，such as the pricing mechanism reform of ordinary type life insurance，the market-oriented investments of insurance funds，and the market access and exit mechanism reform，have demonstrated that the relationship between regulation and market has continued to undergo significant improvements. As the idea of regulation gradually turning to “liberalize the front-end，control the back-end，and strengthen management of the medium-process”，the regulation system of insurance sector has been efficient and effective as a whole in 2013.Third Plenary Meeting of the 18th Session of CPC has proposed to make the market play a decisive role in allocation of resources. The insurance market，as a means to benefit the nation and the residents，ought to improve the institutional arrangements and to become an indispensable part of Chinese market economy. In 2014，the insurance industry will further implement a comprehensive reform to update its development，which has been proposed in the Third Plenary Meeting of the 18th Session of CPC. At the same time，it will accelerate the marketization reform in key areas of insurance sector and contribute more positively to new urbanizationparticularly.
