Abstract:In July 2018，the mastermind of the Tokyo Metro Shalin gas incident，13 people led by the Aum Shinrikyo original master Matsumoto Chizuo（aka Shoko Asahara）was executed. During the same period，the execution of the collective death penalty for the same incident was absolutely unique in the history of modern Japanese constitutionalism that has always been cautious about the application of the death penalty. This paper analyzes and discusses the background and influence of the execution of Aum Shinrikyo in Japan，and analyzes and discusses it from the perspectives of social public opinion，administration，and judicature. The purpose is to reveal the impact of Japanese judicial and administrative reforms on the death penalty system in the Heisei era. At the same time，although the Aum incident has been closed in form，its remnants still exist，and what impact will they have on the future Japanese society？Still worthy of attention.
