Abstract:In 2018，the relations between China and Japan，which hit the bottom，finally warmed up. “from competition to coordination” became the new development vision of China and Japan. “The Belt and Road” initiative put forward by China once aroused Japan’s high vigilance and resolute resistance. In 2016，prime minister Abe even proposed an “indo-pacific strategy” for confrontation. In 2017，however，attitudes changed. When Abe visited China this time，he tactfully accepted “the Belt and Road” initiative in the form of “third-party market cooperation”. In fact，there are three main reasons for the real reversal：First，Japan’s infrastructure export strategy has suffered setbacks in recent years，which is the direct cause. Second，the closely related economic relations between China and Japan are still deepening，which is the fundamental reason. Third，the global economy faces the backdrop of upheaval. Therefore，although there are still many conflicts and problems between China and Japan，more common interests force Japan to approach China and emphasize the importance of strategic coordination.
