Abstract:Japan has entered a historical stage of transformation with the rise of various social issues nowadays，featuring a mixture of “gap-bridging” and “tearing-up” due to the problems of aging population and declining birthrate，the widening social gap and the weakening of interpersonal relationships. The “gap-bridging” is reflected by the policies implemented by the government in order to solve the problems above and alleviate social contradictions. The “tearing-up”，meanwhile，is reflected by the conflicts and confrontation between the people and the government as well as different social groups and factions over the issues relating to the new security bill，the relocation of Okinawa military bases and the restart of nuclear power plants.
