Abstract:Albania held the parliamentary elections in June 2013 resulting in the victory of the coalition led by the Socialist Party，whose leader Edi Rama was elected as prime minister. Albanian economic situation in 2013 was less optimistic，with slower GDP growth and rising budget deficit. As a response，the new government has taken measures to improve the investment environment. As to Albanian foreign relations，the European Commission recommended in the 2013 Enlargement Progress Report that the European Council grant EU candidate status to Albania. In addition，Albania still keeps close relationships with USA and Kosovo. China-Albania relationship has been pushed further under the framework of China-CEE cooperation.
