Abstract:In 2009，the real economy of Italy was hit heavily by the global economic crisis，whereas，compared with that of the other developed countries，the financial sector of Italy was less influenced. For the purpose of stimulating the economy，both the central government and local governments took positive measures. As a result，the Italian economy would probably bottom out by the end of 2009. Its domestic political situation remains generally stable. Mr. Berlusconi’s Freedom People Party gained strength both in the European Parliament Election and Italian local elections. As for the China-Italy relations，President Hu Jintao’s successful visit to Italy vigorously advanced the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Italy. Meanwhile，the two countries launched a series of new strategic programs and bilateral cooperation has been deepened. As the presidency of G8，Italy successfully hosted the dialogue meetings between G8 and the developing countries，which has upgraded its international image.
