Abstract:Political risks insurance is an important measure to encourage and promote outward investment. In recent years，political risks have exhibited some new dimensions，which are significantly different from those in the 1960s and 1970s. These dimensions are posing challenges to the effectiveness of the political risks insurance regime，requiring new innovations. There are some deficiencies in China’s current political risks insurance regime for outward investment. Therefore，it is necessary for China to improve its regime in light of such new dimensions of political risks，the particularity of political risks that Chinese outward investment face，and the new development of political risks insurance.
