Abstract:In 2017，great achievements were made in the protection of ancient books in Hubei Province in terms of increasing collection units，collections，restoration of ancient books and personnel training. However，in this process，there are still some problems，such as unclear responsibility of the main body of ancient books protection，lack of guidance and coordination of the work of the whole province，insufficient funds for ancient books protection，especially the lack of special funds for ancient books protection in cities and counties，insufficient professional and technical personnel，lack of leaders in provincial ancient books research，lack of grassroots practitioners，insufficient efforts in ancient books collation，research and declaration and naming. Therefore，effective measures should be taken in the aspects of system guarantee，mechanism construction，personnel training and position construction to further promote the development of the protection of ancient books in Hubei Province.
