Abstract:The impacts of climate change on the Arctic region are intensifying, mainly in terms of ocean and sea ice changes, shipping and fisheries economies, ecology and livelihoods. This range of natural and social impacts continues to further destabilize the security and stability of the Arctic region, and the issue of Arctic climate governance under the influence of climate change is evolving. At the domestic strategic and legislative level, the eight Arctic states have responded and updated their national Arctic policy strategies and domestic laws to varying degrees to address the impacts of climate change. At the international level of the response mechanism, the eight Arctic states are all parties to the Paris Agreement and have submitted and updated their nationally owned contributions under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change to address climate change. By understanding the domestic policy strategies and relevant legislation of the eight Arctic countries on the issue of climate change and the emission reduction measures and targets of the national self-help contributions for climate action under the UNFCCC,we analyze the developments and new trends of the Arctic countries on the issue of climate change,as well as the problems of the recent development of climate governance in the Arctic region under the current climate issues at the forefront of the international community.
