Abstract:Influenced by French Annales School deeply，William George Hoskins was a celebrated British historian in the twentieth century. Although around the middle period of the century，British historians opposed the Annales School generally，Hoskins’personal circumstances were beneficial to accept the French School，owing to their similar research objects and value orientation as well as Hoskins’special academic network. In terms of text，he was edified by March Bloch mostly，including the macro historical value and pursuit，meso historical idea and methods，micro historical objects and content，and so forth. Referring to the advantages of the Annales School，he wrote the remarkable book The Making of the English Landscape with creativity learning and openness，becoming an academic model of integration and innovation.
