Abstract:At the first meeting of the National Security Commission of the CPC Central Committee on April 15，2014，General Secretary Xi Jinping first explained the overall outlook on national security and proposed the objective of “promoting international security”. The “National Security Strategy Outline” and the new “National Security Law” have both emphasized this goal as well. However，in the following year，the subject was seldom mentioned in the published scholarly monographs；yet some academic papers from up-to-date journals began to explore this goal. Several academic workshops and activities have been held from 2014 to 2015 in China，including the World Peace Forum and the International Security Forum at Tsinghua University，and the International Security Research Forum at University of International Relations，but none of them addressed the objective of “promoting international security”. The academia involved in studies of national and international security situations should take it serious，conduct thorough research on this goal and with its guidance，expand the scope and depth of research.
