Abstract:“Eastward” diplomacy is the result of Arab countries’ adapting to the transformation of international system and adjustment of international energy structure，so that they can meet domestic development demands. Expanding cooperation with Asian countries，strengthening complementary cooperation and achieving diplomatic balance make up the main content of this policy. In recent years，against the background of the co-existence of transformation momentum and reform pressure，the Arab countries have launched medium-and long-term development plans. The reform and development experience of Asian countries，and their unique function in balancing the American role in the region have provided the opportunity for Arab countries to deepen cooperation with the major Asian economies. Also，regime insecurity prompts Arab countries to gradually expand their cooperation with Asian countries from traditional realms to security. Therefore，the improvement of the overall relations between China and Arab countries is not only the realistic need for China to enrich its diplomatic strategic resources and develop its relations with the Islamic world，but also the result of the benign interaction between the “Belt and Road Initiative” and the “eastward” diplomacy of the Arab countries.
