Abstract:The urbanization process for Syrian cities could be traced back to mid-19th century，and witnessed Ottoman Empire era，national independence era and the fast expansion era in 21st century. Syrian urbanization rate expanded from 25% in the early 20th century to 54.7% in 2011.
