Abstract:In 2019,the education in Malaysia shows a good momentum of development. After the new government came to power,it attached great importance to the development of education. The Ministry of Education Malaysia has won biggest proportion of government budget for two consecutive years. The effects of education reform are beginning to show in different fields,as reducing the burden of teachers and students,repairing dilapidated schools... 展开

Abstract:In 2019,the education in Malaysia shows a good momentum of development. After the new government came to power,it attached great importance to the development of education. The Ministry of Education Malaysia has won biggest proportion of government budget for two consecutive years. The effects of education reform are beginning to show in different fields,as reducing the burden of teachers and students,repairing dilapidated schools,and continuously improving the quality of teaching;paying attention to the education of disabled people,increasing access to education for special groups,and improving the fairness of education;focusing on the development of higher education and increasing the autonomy of universities. Besides those achievements,certain controversial topics have also been generated during the period:the final decision on recognition of the UEC of independent Chinese secondary schools is still a mystery,the restoration of the policy of teaching mathematics and science subjects in English has aroused heated debate among the people,and the issue of teaching Jawi calligraphy in fourth grade of elementary school cannot unify people’s opinion in current situation.
