Abstract:The China’s field trials of genetically modified （GM） crops were permitted for the past few years，but not the wide scale of commercial agriculture. A large number of GM crops rely on imports from abroad. Chinese mainstream scientists insist GM crops are safe，but most consumers react strongly against them. Now，while the release of GM crops and food products into the environment and food chain threatens wildlife and human health. One such instance of this is that when a type of GM rice was being developed and released to farmers，it resulted in GM rice contaminating our conventional rice.
