Abstract:When Emmanuel Macron was elected president in 2017，he was eager to carry out a series of reforms in France to promote the economic development and solve the social problems. However，one year later，the situation in France is not so optimistic. The emergence of the “yellow vest” movement broke the layout of French reforms，hampered economic development，and destabilized social confidence. Although the Macron government wants to adhere to French traditional gaullist independent diplomatic line，the decline in its ability have forced the Macron government to be satisfied with the “Atlanticist” practices since the Sarkozy government. France still has a lot of influence in Africa，and it also wants to mark its presence as a major power in the Asia-Pacific. The French government’s public policy reforms seem to be unable to keep up with social changes，but both education policy reforms and cultural protection policy reforms provide us with a new perspective to observe changes in European society.
