Abstract:The key argument in Thomas Robinson's Plato's Psychologyis to find the main line of Plato's doctrine about soul on the basis of reading Timaeusdialogue and to totalize the original and characteristic psyche-ology implied in Plato's thoughts reference to Phaedodialogue，especially focusing on analysis of the process of becoming the world soul and its attributes.Compared with the view of soul in Timaeus，Plato proposes a kind of new view of soul，which is concerned not with individual or universal soul，but with soul in itself，or the soul as a whole.The soul as such is the ultimate origin of movement，that is，it is self-moving just like the God is taking care of creatures without being given souls.
