Abstract:With Trump taking the office，the United States witnessed important changes regarding federal science and technology policies. In great contrast to Obama's abiding commitment to science and tech enterprise，Trump kicked them out of his top priorities，weakening the management of science and technology and their function of decision consultation，in disregard of scientific and evidence-based decision making. While attaching attached great importance to research of national defense and aerospace. Trump notwithstanding tended to limit the government's boundaries，vigorously pursued mercantilism and made major reforms on taxation，trade，energy and regulation，affecting domestic innovation and industrial return thereof. As a result，the U.S.-China relations in terms of science and technology becomes ever sophisticated，posing great challenges for China.
