Abstract:Today，global and Chinese big data industries are developing rapidly. China’s big data industry competitiveness is next to the US，regardless of total data resources or industry scale，leading ahead of other developed economies such as Western Europe，Japan and Korea. China’s big data industrial density index has reached 1.65，which is lower than that of Korea and the United States，but higher than Western Europe，Australia and Japan，which has strong international competitiveness. Developed countries have formed a relatively complete big data industry policy system including strategic planning，rule building，development direction and organization guarantee. It can be seen that China has learned the policy experience about big data industries from developed countries，which has been basically put into practice. However，we must recognize that there are some shortage in Chinese big data industry，for example，social cognition，research capabilities，professional talents，government ability. therefore，China should take measures to shore up weak spots to increase big data industry competitiveness。
