Abstract:With the rapid development of smart tourism and the continuous popularization of mobile applications（Apps），mobile tourism app has become an important tool to realize the service of smart tourism. Due to the large scales of mobile users，many travel-related apps have rapidly occupied most of the market，unconsciously transformed travelers’ behavioral patterns and pushed the transition and upgrading of the tourism industry. In recent years，as one of the vital ways to achieve the goal of “Macau Tourism Industry Development Master Plan”，mobile travel apps have aided a lot to the development of tourism in Macau. It not only improves the service level of relevant government departments and tourism enterprises，but also promotes the satisfaction of tourists and enriches the experience of passengers. By analyzing the status of smart tourism and mobile tourism apps in Macau and conducting a survey of the usage of mobile tourism apps，the findings reveal that the demand for information service is more and more intense during the trip of Chinese tourists，which are mainly reflected through the following aspects：innovative function，user experience，service quality and habitual use. In regard to construction and development of smart tourism，the author suggests Macau should continue perfecting its infrastructures，establishing public service platforms，and strengthening the coordination and integration among tourism services，and the ways of information preaching and spreading as well.
