Abstract:Recent years have witnessed certain new trends in South Korea's FDIs in China，in terms of the scale，subjects，motives，regions and areas of investment.This article focuses on such key factors on South Korea's FDIs in China as market，cost，institutions，industrial agglomeration，and infrastructure.Through a phase-based analysis and regression，it can be found that the large market in China has been the main attracting factor of South Korea's FDIs to China，a trend becoming increasingly manifest in recent years.The labour cost remains one direct reason for South Korea's FDIs in China.Nevertheless，with rising labour cost in China，South Korea's FDIs in China have shifted from cost-sensitivity towards market exploration.The effect of preferential policies to attract FDIs has been increasingly weakened，to be replaced gradually by China's well-established market institutions.The Korean FDIs in China are still concentrated on the manufacturing industry，where the influence of financial services and facilities on investment is not salient.However，with the diversification and upgrade of Korean FDIs in China，Korean mega-enterprises start aiming at China's large domestic demand，where there is an increasing proportion of investment in the financial service sector.
