Abstract:The music industry in Macao had a late start. Not until 2003-a few years after Hong Kong and Taiwan music industries had reached their maturity-did Macao have its own music award. Currently，the music industry in Macao is on a good track，but it still needs to work on three key areas：First，making stars，since Macao lacks its own music stars；second，putting an emphasis on the music and the entertainment industries in accordance with the development trends of specific societies；and third，building a music industry structure of good quality and Macao characters by making full use of cultural industry fund，government support and development cycles.
