Abstract:Under the influence of the domestic strategy and regional situation，Japan has made greater effort in implementing its “strategic diplomacy” in Asia-Pacific region. In the past one year，Japan has actively undertaken diplomatic campaigns in Northeast and Southeast Asia，making use of the rising importance of regional security issues and aiming at building the partnership network and the containment trap against China. Japan’s current Asia-Pacific policy has strong dependency on U.S Asia-Pacific Strategic，promoting the “security diplomacy” and attempting to tackle disputed issues，with a growing sense of containment against China. Japan’s Asia-Pacific policy，having gained certain progress，also reveals its limitation and negative impact on regional affairs，with its trend being driven by the development of Japan’s national strategy，the adjustment of U.S regional strategy and the “China factor” in the future.
