Abstract:Situated at the crossroads of Southeast Asia，Indonesia is of great geopolitical significance for China’s Maritime Silk Road. Thanks to Indonesia’s endeavor to build itself into a sea power and a strategic global maritime hub，Indonesia is of great economic and cultural value as well. It is imperative for China to connect its Maritime development strategy with that of Indonesia，making use of Indonesia’s geopolitical value through common interests，common understandings，common developments，interactions，effects assessments，and security guarantees，so as to build the 21st Maritime Silk Road into a co-designed，co-built and co-owned project.
