Abstract:Japan remains the status of a major manufacturing country in the world. However，the development of its domestic manufacturing industry has slowed down，while facing a pattern of production under a regional division of overseas and domestic production. From a trade point of view，the competitiveness of Japanese manufacturing industry and the international market share of its products have declined sharply，and some traditional export products have even gradually lost their competitive advantage. Its products which have competitive advantage have shifted to high value-added products with their materials and components. Accompanied by the development of overseas investment of the products of processing type，the investment income from overseas has increased rapidly. Faced with the issue of hollowing-out of industry，the production mode which has created the miracle of Japanese manufacturing industry is also facing severe pressure of transformation. Japanese government has promulgated a series of policies aimed at revitalizing Japanese manufacturing sector.
