Abstract:Hamburg is the second largest city and one of the most important economic centers in Germany.After the 1980 s, by the influence of globalization, the whole city and the surrounding area fall in atrophy and depression, while its population decline very fast, and the economy in crisis.However, after nearly 20 years of positive transformation, Hamburg has become the most important economic growth center and the most popular cities in Germany, and among one of the ‘Global city rankings' top 20.This paper introduces the transformation experience of city Renaissance under the guidance of planning framework, which has an model value to many cities in transformation.
