Abstract:After the sovereignty handover，Macao may maintain，develop relations and sign and implement agreements with other countries and regions in economic，trade，finance，tourism，culture and other fields in the name of “Macao，China” according to the “Basic Law”. In this case，on the one hand，the relationship between Macao and the United States has come a long way in terms of import and export trade，finance or investment as well as in areas like cultural exchanges. In particular，after the opening of the gambling right the US capital poured into Macao，which not only promoted Macao’s gaming industry flourish in recent years，but also brought about a profound impact to Macao’s economic and social life. On the other hand，due to the traditional historical cultural origins，Macao and EU continue to deepen the cooperation and exchange in economic，trade，financial，cultural，environmental，health and other fields，thereby Macao regains more opportunities and broader space for development in the promotion of exchanges between China and the West，and raises its international status.
