Abstract:Gender equality is a global issue with huge complexity and difficulty. After more than ten years of efforts by the global community since 1995，the situation of global gender equality shows slow and painful progress，but challenges persist：gender equality has not been achieved worldwide but with uneven development in women’s political，economic participation，educational opportunities and so forth. Therefore，the paper highlights the strategy of gender mainstreaming that empowers women to promote gender equality，and calls on reshaping global politics through gender equality.
