Abstract:The world's major armed conflicts from 2010 to 2011 basically remained the same as those in previous year. The Middle East, South Asia, and Northeast Africa were the scenes of the majority of the armed conflicts. The war in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, and the civil wars or armed conflicts in Syria, Yemen, India, Pakistan, and Somalia have attracted global attention. The United States is still No. 1 in the world in terms of annual military expenditures. The United States and China's neighbors are concerned about the PLA military build-up. The latest volume of the National Military Strategy of the United States 2011 and the Air Sea Battle Concept express America's uneasiness about the development of the PLA's anti-access/area denial capabilities.
