Abstract:Malaysian ruling coalition-the National Front lost the 2/3 majority in the Congress and the power in 5 states in the 2008 general election，which has been the most serious failure since its founding. As the pre-election political situation is relatively stable and beneficial to the National Front，the unexpected failure resulted political instability. The main reasons include the authoritarian government lost its economic base，and opposition use of the Internet to increase the capacity of political mobilization，and so on. Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi under the pressure from inside and outside the party，will resign in March 2009 ahead of schedule.
