Abstract:The African political development picture in 2010 can be drawn and expressed with three key words such as “Renaissance”，“Governance” and “Security”.The South Africa World Cup with great passion，proud and self-confidence in June-July is certainly the brightest part in this picture which has brought back the hope for African renaissance and development.The meaning of the World Cup has gone far beyond soccer and sport event itself，it bears the hope of the future for all the African people in the Continent.The peaceful and smooth accomplishment of Kenya’s Constitution Referendum and Presidential election in Rwanda in August，plus the 13th meeting of the African Peer Review Mechanism（APRM）Forum in July，have not only represented two developing trends of African political development，but also reflected the great endeavour and exploration of African countries on the effective governance and strengthening democratic monitoring mechanism.The unrest situation in Somali since the middle of 2010 and its spillover to neighbouring countries shows clearly that Africa is still facing the long term challenges in terms of maintaining stability and security.
