Abstract:African countries have seen four sequential years with annual GDP growth of over 5 percent. It was estimated to be over 6 percent in 2008，well above the world average of 3.7 percent. In spite of all these be-heartening figures，African governments still have lots of work to do，for poverty reduction and a sustainable development. The current dependence on raw material exportation should be changed. African countries should develop their own industrial system and use their resource potentials better，setting up their own processing and service sectors. More engines for economical growth should be forged in the days to come.
