Abstract:From the beginning of 2008 until the middle of 2009，it is a period that many twists and turns happened in African political development. Even though the general situation in Africa remains stable during the time，there are many unhappy things appeared as well，such as the chaos in post-election Kenya，xenophobia in South Africa，wild piracy at offshore of Somalia and the military coups as well as the unconstitutional“regime change”，etc. However，in the meanwhile，beneath of the sorrow stories and setbacks，there are endless endeavors devoted by African countries and their people for seeking stability and collective self-reliance. No matter the smooth elections taken place in Ghana and South Africa，the establishment of coliation government in Zimbabwe，or the rapid development of African regional integration as well as the joint crackdown of Somali piracy，all demonstrate that African political development is still moving forward even though the road ahead is tortuous.
