Abstract:The construction of the marine ecological civilization demonstration zone focuses on intensive use of marine resources and effective protection of the marine environment，and has achieved some achievements in marine economic development and marine environmental protection. However，in the process of industrialization and urbanization，with the increase of marine economic activities，the reduction of resources and system degradation pressures faced by marine ecosystems is increasing，which not only poses risks to the marine ecological environment，but also challenges the sustainable development of the demonstration areas. In recent years，the state has successively issued opinions on the construction of marine ecological civilization demonstration zones，and launched the first marine surveillance for marine environmental protection. Local governments have also increased investment in the construction of demonstration zones. In view of the status quo and existing problems of marine ecological civilization construction in coastal areas，the demonstration area needs to adhere to the principles of linkage management，ecological priority，point and face combination，and public participation，through sound institutional design，scientific development methods and extensive social participation. Further realize the comprehensive promotion of marine ecological civilization construction，and then form a large-scale pattern of comprehensively promoting the construction of demonstration zones.
