深中肯綮：彭树智先生对美国霸权主义的批判

Abstract:Professor Peng Shuzhi is an outstanding historian in China. While he put forward and demonstrated the theory of “Civilized Communication”，he also criticized the hegemony actions of the Unites States in the world，such as using the military forces and destroying the orders of civilized communication. He pointed out that the American prevailing hegemonism in the field of politics，economy，military and culture would be inevitably up against growing challenges in international relations，and shake the foundations of the American empire；the war in Afghanistan waged by the U.S. was not only a revenge against the Taliban regime，but also for the hegemonic interests in the Middle East and Central Asia. He also pointed out that the purpose of the war in Iraq was to control the oil resources in the Middle East that directly control economic arteries of Britain，France，Germany，Japan and indirectly restrict the development of China. And the Iraq War was a turning point of the United States from prosperity to decline which brings the crisis of American civilization. In Peng’s view，American civilization is the model and epitome of western civilization，and western civilization has been infected with long-term illness. At the same time，he also pointed the civilized way for the U.S. and western countries to respect the national conditions of all countries，eliminate the idea of Messiah and hegemony，and help developing countries develop their economies and so on.
