Abstract:Fuzhou City is on the coast of the East China Sea，is bordered by the Taiwan Strait to the east. Since ancient times，it has been an important influential port city along the “Maritime Silk Road”，and was identified one of the first batch open coastal cities. At the year of 1994，Xi Jinping served as Secretary of the CPC Fuzhou Committee，and proposed the strategic idea of building the “Maritime Fuzhou”. In 2021，the General Secretary Xi came to Fujian to inspect special emphasis on Fujian to expand the emerging marine emerging industries，which provided guidance for the development of Fuzhou marine industry. This article sorted out the foundation and environment of the marine industry in Fuzhou City，and conducted in-depth inquiry of its development status. It is found that the development of the marine industry in Fuzhou still has the inadequate industrial structure. The extensive development model of traditional industries has not yet changed completely and the development of emerging industries is still insufficient. Combining the current status and problems facing Fuzhou’s marine industry，the more efficient development of Fuzhou marine industry needs to accelerate the transformation of traditional fishery development models，promote the level of industrial clusterization of the port，build a world-class deepwater port，and promote the high-quality development of coastal tourism industry. Vigorously cultivate emerging marine industries.
