Abstract:As the center of the global marine development system and an important organizational node in the world marine city network system,the global marine central city has a global exemplary role and important international influence. Based on Analytic hierarchy process(AHP),Principal component Analysis(PCA),Entropy method and Grey Relational degree,this report constructs an index system for the development level of global marine central cities. Ten major marine central cities in the world,including Singapore,Rotterdam,London,Oslo,Shanghai,New York,Tokyo,Athens,Hamburg and Hong Kong,were selected for joint evaluation. The report holds that:(1)the major marine central cities in the world have their own priorities in all aspects of construction,among which Athens is ahead of other cities in the construction of shipping centers,which is closely related to its long history of marine development. New York takes the lead in finance and law,mainly because New York is a world-famous financial center;Shanghai is slightly ahead of other cities in port construction because of its superior geographical location;Rotterdam and London have performed well in the construction of marine science and technology centers,which are inseparable from the support of the government and the role of technology supply from scientific research institutions.(2)Singapore is in the lead in the overall construction,but there are deficiencies in the construction of the marine science and technology center,which may affect the further upgrading of the marine industry;Rotterdam is slightly inferior to other cities in the construction of shipping centers,this may be due to Rotterdam’s neglect of shipping industry while developing other areas.(3)Oslo is slightly worse than other cities in all aspects,but this may also be because the economic volume is not taken into account in the evaluation index system.
