2021年亚太外交动向：竞争与不确定性增强

Abstract:The Asia-Pacific diplomacy in 2021 has witnessed obviously a trend of increased competition and uncertainty influenced by the pandemic of the century interacted with global changes unseen in a century. As the United States has further strengthened the competition of great powers，functions of jointly coping with crises and maintaining stability among major countries have declined significantly. The relations between China and Japan，China and India，Japan and Russia，and Japan and South Korea have also been further complicated. At the same time，the Southeast Asian countries are facing an increased pressure of “choose sides” while there is also a fierce competition among major powers over the South Pacific region. In the face of the above complex regional environment，China is willing to fight and will fight well in dealing with Sino-US relations，and still can maintain the overall situation with the US. In terms of Russia，a comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination is further enhanced. In addition，China is committed to carrying out effective anti-epidemic diplomacy，actively practiced multilateralism and promoted multilateral governance in the Asia-Pacific region，so as to demonstrate its big country responsibility.
