Abstract:In 2022，China’s foreign trade with stood multiple pressures and achieved a new high in trade volume. The trade layout，structure，and trade mode were further optimized，achieving the goal of maintaining stability and improving quality，and making important contributions to overall economic and social stability. The service trade continued to grow，with travel services gradually recovering，and digital trade showing good development trends. Foreign Direct Investment（FDI）maintained steady growth. China became the second-largest FDI inflow country and the third-largest FDI outflow country globally. Non-financial direct investment also increased. However，in 2022，the value and number of cross-border mergers and acquisitions by Chinese companies decreased，especially for large transactions，and the value of newly signed overseas engineering contracts also declined.
