转型初期斯洛伐克政党政治对捷克斯洛伐克解体的影响

Abstract:Party politics led by political elites played a key role in the dissolution of Czechoslovakia. The 1992 parliamentary election of Czechoslovakia is regarded as the direct cause of the Velvet Divorce. This article reviews the balance of power between three types of political parties respectively supporting federation，confederation and independence. The study finds that federalists were continuously weakened and divided，pro-confederation parties dominated the parliament at the later period，but it was the weak pro-independence parties who achieved what they wanted. This dramatic ending illustrates the lack of political experience in the initial period of transition and the imperfection of the democratic system.
