Abstract:In the political sphere，the Slovak ruling coalition faced severe challenges in 2021，which caused the change of the prime minister. The new administration took tough measures against corruption，a chronic problem. Slovakia’s economy was in good shape throughout the year，with the GDP returning to positive growth and a significant recovery of foreign trade. In foreign relations，Slovakia’s pro-American，anti-Russian tendency increased in the multi-level，multilateral diplomatic arena. In the social and cultural sphere，Slovakia adjusted its pandemic prevention and control policy and promoted the digital transformation of the education system and the reform of higher education. In terms of relations with China，2021 saw steady progress in China-Slovakia cooperation in political matters，trade and economy，science and technology，and sports.
