Abstract:In political development，Kaja Kallas became the first female prime minister；former Prime Minister Jüri Ratas was elected the speaker of the parliament；and Alar Karis was elected the sixth president. Economically，activities have generally returned to the pre-pandemic level，and the country was on the path of recovery. On the diplomatic and security front，Estonia was maintaining close ties with the U.S. Its relationship with Russia continued to deteriorate，with frequent diplomatic disputes. In order to control the differences and prevent escalation，the two countries restarted dialogues that had been suspended for many years. Estonia hosted NATO’s largest military exercise European Defender in 25 years. In relationship with China，there are discordant voices on the Estonian side，casting cloud over the bilateral relations.
