Abstract:In 2021，the internal and external situation in Kazakhstan was generally stable. Although the “dual core politics” still existed，the first President Nazarbayev began to hand over to President Tokaev，and the real power held by Tokaev gradually increased. With the general easing of the epidemic and the rise in international oil prices，the economy gained new momentum，yet it remained generally sluggish，and the rising prices raised public discontent. In diplomacy，Kazakhstan adhered to the basic principles of a balanced policy of great powers，and strove to develop friendly and cooperative relationships with other countries. However，the Taliban’s coming to power in Afghanistan led to new changes in the regional power structure and the country’s external environment faced new challenges.
